Mail order books from the States are unfortunately prohibitively
expensive for me, what with around $10 a book just for p&p. I forgot to
give the webpage address of Meyer's publisher for those like me
financially challenged & not living near to wonderful American bookshops
like those Gerald helpfully suggests (if I ever make it to the US again
in this lifetime - I well remember spending hours looking through poetry
sections in Georgetown, NY & San Francisco):
http://jargonbooks.com/dusk.html
The only upsetting feature of this pdf file is that ff & ffi within
words are replaced by little symbols, ~ and ^. Odd. I certainly haven't
given up hoping that an Amazon.fr partner offers this book at a
reasonable price, since I well believe Pierre's praise of Jargon's
productions. But the generosity of this offer is breathtaking - in
general, American websites display an eagerness to share in sharp
distinction to the policies of the bunch of riffraff tyrants currently
ruling the roost. I am very grateful for all that the New World has
offered me in my lifetime, living in our "old" Europe as I do. Just
thought I'd say that.
