Dear Douglas,
I also believe that the Bible is literally true. I have no
problem with the four Gospels as a true account of the Ministry of Jesus
Christ whilst on earth, sent by the Father.
However, the book of Revelation and the book of Daniel with all of its
symbollism and allegory cannot I believe be taken literally. there are many
and varied interpretations by a different biblical scholars and well
respected theologians.
I believe the Genesis account to be literally true [the world was created
in 6 literal days] and not some fanciful story that the world is millions
of years old just to fit into someone's Evolutionary understanding of the
world.
"Evolution is just a waste of time"
I have been interested in theology for many years and I have found that it
has become an increasing influence in my poetry.[see Infralapsarianism as
posted]
I belong to a mainstream church affiliation, and am not interested in any
"cult" or "sect" offshoot religion that are intent on deceit, despite the
sincerity in their belief.[like Islam, this is a false belief]
I do believe that Jesus Christ is the revealed Son of God and thus
is 'TRUTH ABSOLUTE' incarnate. This truth can only be 'known' by revelation.
I do not believe that 'relative truth' is the only truth by which a person
should live their lives. I am not a member of Roman Catholicism, a religion
that is based upon moralism and superstition and thus enslaves its
followers.
I shall refrain from boring you any longer, other than to reiterate that
along with many millions of others, I too believe in a literal
interpretation of the Holy Bible.
