Dear Colleagues,
I am looking for lecturers and content developers to help review and
develop a new format of DVD e-book that is to be used as training
notes, stand alone course work , a self teaching product and curriculum
content. In return I will work with individuals to help maximise
profits for their departments by utilising this new product. I will
explain.....
Our small educational content developers publishing company, Alienideas
Ltd, is about to launch a new complete training DVD for digital
imaging. In e-book format it comprehensively explains digital imaging
in simple and concise terms and also includes 90 minutes of embedded
bite-size video tutorials. It covers;
Equipment Choice
Photography and Lighting skills
Image Quality and efficiency
Systems set up and maintenance
Image manipulation
File output
And finally - Terminology
As we speak the IQA (Institute of Quality Assurance) in the UK are
producing digital guidelines - or a 'best practise' guide to digital
imaging that will be launched in November 2005 to the entire imaging
industry. You can download these guidelines at www.iqa.org/digital.
Our product called "FocusON: a guide to digital imaging - the
professional skills explained" will be the first such product to adhere
to these guidelines giving student, enthusiast, and professional
photographers a clear understanding of the merits of digital imaging.
The reason for contacting you is that we would very much appreciate
your views on this DVD as to if it could become a resource for your
students and what we should be doing to facilitate this with your
campus.
We are already working with Skillset, Reading University, NESSCOT and
Northumbria University before it is released to ensure it is the best
learning tool available but we need your feedback to ensure we have
thought of everything.
For a little more information at a glance please look at
www.alienideas.com where you will find some endorsements from the
industry and some samples. You will also find background information
on the company itself.
We would be very happy to send you a copy for review. All I would need
is a suitable address to send it to.
Please contact me directly as I would be more than happy to provide
review copies or provide individuals with other contacts, of ours, in
HE digital imaging training who have opinions of their own on the
potential usefulness of this e-book.
I hope this helps and is informative.
kind regards
Hamish
