As I outlined in the earlier post, I think the obtaining of consent to
approach a treating doctor is unnecessary, probably not actually
complied with by many non-medical enquirers, and lack of consent would
have to be over-ridden by occupational physicians in cases where there
was information to convey to, as well as request from, the GP. Best
