Hi
The first appt will take longer giving all info etc usually allow 10- 15
min but for the second and third if all was fine on the first 5-10 mins
is usually plenty.
Having pre filled syringes and leaving the patient info for Hep B in the
waiting room helps to maximise use of actual OHA time.
Kind regards

Subject: Appointment times for Hep B vaccinations
To all that run Hep B clinics,
I would like to ask how long OH colleagues appoint for a patient
receiving a Hep B vaccination. I have said 10 - 15 minutes for each
patient, bearing in mind the pre-vaccination time, injection time and
post vaccination observation time. Do you think this is too long? Myself
and a colleague conflict as to how long we should allocate for
appointments. I think up to 15 minutes is safe but she feels that they
can be done in 5-10 minutes safely. Can anyone share what allocation
time they give to Hep B clinics?
Much appreciated,
Lynn
