Hello again folks
I apologise that this is my third posting in a week, but I am in this plant
on my own and have only recently entered Occ Health. Must say that I have
found jiscmail to be an invaluable help and great support.
Basically, there is a portable Ampliovox 160 screening Audiometer in the
department. My manager and the Health and Safety officer have both said
that they would like hearing screening carried out on employees.
I notice from previous notes that a predecessor carried out testing in a
quiet room in the plant, and there is an instruction manual with the
Audiometer on how a test should be carried out.
My query is that I have never done audiometry before or have never done any
sort of Audiometry course. Do I need to have previous experience or a
specific course?
Also, while the instruction manual states that the test can be carried out
in a 'quiet room' using this audiometer, should there really be a sound
proof booth ?
I would be grateful for any help on this.
Regards
Chris
