We receive a referral from management which includes consent and informs us that the manager has discussed the reasons for the referral with the employee; we also know what questions they want answered. All reports written are discussed with the employee and copied to them. The consent covers us with regard to the DPA as well as any other information we may impart. Sian

Morning all
If you write to a manager about an employee, for example following a
sickness absence referral, do you always send a copy to the member of staff
as well?
As a general I do not, but more and more staff are now asking for a copy of
the letter, which I have no problem with, and with the increasing cases
being brought by employees etc I have no doubt this will increase, so I am
wondering if it would make more sense to send a copy of any letters to the
employee as a matter of routine.
I am curious as to what others do in regard to this.
Have a good weekend
Glenn
