Artist Talk: Who watches the watchman?
================================
Tuesday -- 4 October ------- 4pm -------> Watermans --- 40 High Street,
TW8 0DS
Recent works of artists Manu Luksch and Mukul Patel reflect upon the
omnipresence of surveillance technology in our daily environment by
making use of it in humorous, unanticipated ways. The artists will show
examples of productions including the sound piece 'RENUMBER' that uses
a Soviet spy dish as musical instrument, and the sci-fi thriller
'FACELESS', which is filmed entirely by CCTV cameras.
Come early (or to one of the demo dates) to play a tune on their piece
'ORCHESTRA OF ANXIETY', currently on show at Watermans.

Orchestra of Anxiety by Manu Luksch & Mukul Patel
=========================================
--15 September – 23 October -------> Watermans Gallery 40 High Street,
TW8 0DS
A participative installation Orchestra of Anxiety is a collection of
instruments that use materials and technologies from the security and
surveillance industries. The central focus of the installation is a
harp, traditionally regarded as a sacred or metaphysical instrument.
However, unlike standard harps, this one is strung with razor wire,
requiring the harpist to wear protective gloves while playing. Touching
a string triggers multiple projections and sound sources in the
gallery.
Supervised demos of the work will be held in gallery on: 30 Sept
