Just a footnote: The "virtual museum" is obviously an idea that has been
lingering through many minds and institutions for a long time.
But the first interactive installation called "Virtual Museum" was done by
Jeffrey Shaw in 1991:

And it's part of the collection of the ZKM-Medienmuseum and Peter Weibel is
