folks,
i am also against announcements on CRUMB - as sarah says, there are
other lists for that; and thus i also have no desire for another
list. the quality and relevance of CRUMB is in the discussions about
curatorial and related issues. it would be great if we could keep it
that way, for if it turns into yet another channel that doubles and
triples mails which also get sent to rhizome, spectre, nettime, and
others, it will quickly get annoying.
greetings,
-a
>P.S. We have often been asked if we'll set up a crumb2 list just for
>announcement type postings - a practical back-channel for curators
>to exchange info on who/what/where/when. often these suggestions
>come from curators who want to be able to discuss things without
>artists being in the room, which we find a wee bit problematic in
>our modern day spirit of file-sharing. there are 600+ of you on this
>list... is that really something you feel could be useful? Do you
>want another list to read? Or do we continue to let the odd relevant
>announcement slip through into our thematic discussions to spark
>further debate? It's all about the filter.
