this report was in The Guardian a couple of days ago, and concerns an
Inquiry into a very serious leak of highly radioactive material at the UK
Sellafield nuclear waste reprocessing plant has disclosed that it was a
result of the failure to install designated vibration proofing that was
also meant to protect the pipework in the case of earthquakes... So nuclear
plants really can be operated by Homer Simpson or worse, more senior
people... It is a useful counterweight to the stereotype that these things
mainly happen in 'Third World' countries:
