I would be grateful if you could draw the following advertisement to the
attention of any potential candidates. Essentially, we are looking for a
researcher with skills in experiment design and/or low light level
detection, with an interest in applying those skills in a wide rage of
applications.
Further details can be obtained from the links in the ad.
Many thanks

Two Post-doctoral Research Associate Posts in Spectroscopy, Materials and
Synthesis
Applications are invited for two post-doctoral research associate (PDRA)
positions. Each post has been funded for two years by the EPSRC
‘Adventurous Chemistry’ initiative. The research program is a broad based
initiative in molecular and nanoscale photonics, and will involve the
synthesis and preparation of novel materials and their characterisation by
advanced optical spectroscopy. Implementation of this program will require
two highly motivated individuals with distinct skills, but a commitment to
interdisciplinary work at the materials/physics/chemistry interfaces.
One PDRA should have established expertise in the design and construction of
advanced optical experiments. Relevant experience might include, but is not
limited to: single molecule detection; four wave mixing spectroscopy;
fluorescence imaging.
Another PDRA should have synthetic organic chemistry experience, preferably
in relation to either organic materials such as polymers and/or liquid
crystals or organometallics
Both positions will be available from 1st May 2005, and will be for a fixed
term period of two years. Salary will be on the Research and Analogous
Staff Grade 1A £19,460 to £29,128 per annum.
Preliminary enquiries, including a CV, should be made to Prof. Meech
(Instrumentation, RA152) ([log in to unmask]) or Dr Cammidge (Synthesis,
RA153) ([log in to unmask])
Further particulars and an application form should be obtained from the
Personnel Office, University of East Anglia, Norwich, NR4 7TJ (Internet:
http://www.uea.ac.uk/personnel/jobs/ or e-mail: [log in to unmask] or
answer phone: 01603 593493), to be returned by 21 March 2005. Please quote
