Lecturer, History of Technology or Science, Iowa State University
deadline: June 30, 2005
One-year non-renewable lecturer position beginning 16 August 2005.
Teaching will include two-semester survey course on the history of
technology, plus other undergraduate courses. Required Qualifications are
an M.A. degree in history or related area and successful stand-alone
teaching experience. Preferred qualifications are Ph.D. by August 2005.
Associate Professor in the History of Science or Technology, Yale
University deadline: September 15, 2005
Position begins July 1, 2006. Field, region, and period are open, but
preference will be given to applicants who work in the history of the
experimental life sciences since 1800. Duties will include teaching in the
Program in the History of Science and Medicine, the History Department,
and the Section for the History of Medicine in the School of Medicine .
Applications are also welcome from candidates who work in the history of
technology since 1800, early modern science, or science in the developing
world.

The Department of Anthropology seeks applications and nominations for an
appointment in social/cultural anthropology. Rank and geographical areas
are open. We seek scholars with demonstrated strengths in one or more of
the following: science, technology and medicine; language and discourse in
relation to economic and political reasoning; new kinship, family and
childhood. We expect candidates to have a strong commitment to
ethnographic field research and to training of students at both graduate
and
undergraduate levels. We will begin to review applications in early
October and the process will continue until the position is filled.
