I send some information about the courses and concerts that will take
place during the VIII Semana de música antigua de Gijón (12th to 24th

VIII Semana de música antigua de Gijón (del 12 al 24 de julio, 2005) en

COURSES:

17th to 24th of July

  - Spanish Baroque dance: Begoña del Valle.
  - Lute, vihuela, theorbo: Paul O'Dette.
  - Baroque cello and viola da gamba: Lúcia Krommer.
  - Baroque violin and viola da gamba: José Vázquez.
  - Renaissance choral conducting & Performance of Renaissance polyphony:
Michael     Noone.
  - Spanish keyboard music around 1600: Andrés Cea.
  - Chamber music: given by all the teachers.
Accompanists: Mabel Ruiz, theorbo, lute, vihuela and chamber music co-
ordinator.
                         Aarón Zapico, harpsichord.

17th to 23rd of July

  - Workshop on historical temperaments and tuning of fretted string
instruments:     Amaya García.
  - Andalusi music workshop (singing, percussion, rebab, viol, Arab lute,
mandolin,     calligraphy): Ensemble Albaycin , conducted by Rachid
Guerbas.

INSTRUMENT MAKING WORKSHOP: 12th to 24th of July

  - Building of a four-string medieval citole: Antonio Franco.
  - Building of a seven-course Renaissance lute: Jaume Bosser.

MASTERCLASS: 21st of July

  - The Baroque guitar in the days of Cervantes: Juan Carlos Rivera.

  Ensemble Albaycin, concert reading of andalusi nawba. CCAI

  Festival Orchestra and Choir. Teatro Jovellanos

*All concerts will start at 20:30 hours. Festival students will get a 50%
discount on the tickets for the concerts held in Teatro Jovellanos; the
entrance will be free for all the other concerts.

Historical instruments from the period between 1500 and 1780: violins,
violas, violas da gamba, violas d’amore, bows. Centro de Cultura Antiguo

-Arab calligraphies by Yacine Kacimi el Hassani
Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto, exhibition hall 1.

  - Laúd, vihuela, tiorba: Paul O'Dette.
  - Violonchelo barroco y viola da gamba: Lúcia Krommer.
  - Violín barroco y viola da gamba: José Vázquez.
  - Dirección de coro renacentista e Interpretación de polifonía
renacentista: Michael     Noone.
  - Música española para tecla hacia 1600: Andrés Cea.
  - Música de Cámara: impartido por el conjunto de los profesores.
Correpetidores: Mabel Ruiz, tiorba, laúd, vihuela y coordinación música de
cámara.

  - Taller de afinación y temperamentos históricos para instrumentos de
cuerda con     trastes: Amaya García.
  - Taller de música andalusí (canto, percusión, rebab, viola, laúd árabe,
mandolina,     caligrafía): Ensamble Albaycin, dirigido por Rachid Guerbas.

TALLER DE VIOLERÍA-LUTHERÍA: del 12 al 24 de julio

  - Construcción de cítola medieval de cuatro cuerdas: Antonio Franco.
  - Construcción de laúd renacentista de siete órdenes: Jaume Bosser.

CLASE MAGISTRAL: 21 de julio

  - La guitarra barroca en tiempos de Cervantes: Juan Carlos Rivera.
