JACOB OBRECHT (1457/58 - 1505): THE QUINCENTENARY CONFERENCE
Antwerp, Belgium, 26-28 August 2005
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Alamire Foundation, International Centre for the Study of Music in the
Low Countries (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium) will host a three
day conference on Jacob Obrecht (b. Ghent 1457/58 - d. Ferrara 1505). The
programme committee invites submissions on, but not limited to, the
following topics:
1) Stylistic and analytical aspects
2) Sources (manuscripts, prints)
3) New biographical evidence, Institutions and Patronage (second half of the
fifteenth century, early sixteenth century)
4) Reception of Obrecht's work and the relation with his contemporaries
Abstracts and papers can be either in English, German or French.
Presentations should be 25 minutes in length.
Please send abstracts via e-mail to:

500 words. Include the authors name, address, institutional affiliation,
e-mail address, short biographical notice, and a list of AV requirements.
Presenters will be asked to provide at a later date an abstract suitable
for publication in the conference program.
Deadline for submissions: April 15, 2005. The selection process will be
completed by May 15th.
The selection of the abstracts will be made exclusively by a programme
committee formed by the following members:
