DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY (Goldsmiths, University of London
Research Officer, 18 month fixed-term - TBC
(from June or as soon as possible thereafter)
The department wishes to appoint an experienced researcher in
Sociology/Media/Cultural Studies for the ESRC Identities Programme research
project on ‘Making Class and Self through Televised Ethical Scenarios’.
You will have a postgraduate degree in social sciences or humanities, with
experience of organizing and undertaking empirical field research. You will
be expected to contribute to the development of the project, responsible for
collecting and analyzing data, and develop a profile in research and
publication. Excellent communication skills are essential.
The department of sociology is a 6* RAE department which houses a range of
research projects and researchers. It has a lively intellectual culture of
which you would be expected to be a part.
Salary will initially be on the Research 1A scale, spine point 6; £23,774
per annum inclusive of £2,134 London Weighting Allowance.
