DIRECTOR - East Anglian Film Archive
We are seeking applications for the post of Director of the East Anglian
Film Archive (EAFA), a part of the School of Film and Television Studies at
the University of East Anglia, Norwich. Following the retirement of David
Cleveland, the founding director of EAFA, and the move of the Archive into
new, purpose-built premises, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic,
enterprising and forward-looking individual to take over the leadership of
one of the UK’s premiere regional film and television archives at a crucial
stage in its development.
The Director has overall responsibility for managing EAFA as a public
archive with a strong access and outreach programme, as a commercial
enterprise with considerable scope for further development, and as part of
an academic institution with a well-established teaching and research
agenda. The successful candidate will need strong leadership skills, an
excellent understanding of and a very strong vision for the business side
of EAFA, and especially the opportunities for fund-raising and income
generation, considerable experience of strategic planning and financial
management, and a flair for marketing and external relations.
For more details about EAFA, go to http://www.uea.ac.uk/eafa/. For an
informal discussion about the post, contact Professor Andrew Higson (Head
