The School of Education, Communication & Language Sciences at Newcastle
University wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Communication Studies. The
appointee will be expected to make a major contribution to the teaching and
development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the study of
culture, communications, and media studies, as well as to the research
activities in this area. The School is committed to the development and
expansion of these fields, and preference will be given to those with a
PhD, a history of postgraduate supervision and experience of developing
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and evidence of a promising
publications record. All specialisms will be considered although we are
particularly interested in strengthening the areas of global media output
and institutions, visual communication and cultures, New Media,
communication and cultural theory and popular cultural studies.
