Over the past 7 years, the Contemporary Documentary Archive
(CDA) based at the School of Music, Media and Performance,
University of Salford has been building a substantial archive of
documentary programmes broadcast in Britain. The focus of the
CDA has been surveillance, crime, the police and reality TV.
The CDA holds thousands of hours of major documentaries and
continues to add to it's collection. Examples of our holdings
include Crimewatch UK, Police Camera Action, Cutting Edge, Big
Brother, Neighbours From Hell and many others.
The CDA also has a significant amount of press cuttings which
supplement these recordings which are also available for loan by
academic staff and post graduate students.
Those wishing to use the CDA's viewing facilities or cuttings should
email [log in to unmask] in the first instance. A copy of our
electronic catalogue is available on request.
