The Wallace Collection, a national museum and one of the world’s great
collections of paintings, decorative arts and arms and armour, situated in
the heart of central London.
The Wallace Collection has embarked on an ambitious programme of
activities, collectively known as Wallace Live, with the objective of
revolutionizing the way in which collections information is created, used
and delivered to our audiences. At the centre of this initiative is the
implementation of a Collections Management System (CMS). We are currently
recruiting for:
Documentation Assistants up to £17,900 pa (depending on experience)
Three positions, fixed term 12 months commencing 6th February 2006
The post holders will play a key role in making collections information
accessible to staff, researchers and the public through the creation of
digital content so that a core record exists for every object.
As a major contributor to the success of Wallace Live, this role is an
exciting opportunity for applicants with a minimum of 1 year’s experience
of museum documentation practice. The successful applicants will have a
good understanding of cataloguing standards, the ability to work
independently whilst meeting team targets and share a passion for the
Wallace Collection.
