Dear Museum Computer Group members and subscribers to the MCG e-mail list,
If you have not already booked for the Museums Computer Group AGM and Autumn meeting being hosted by the National Museums, Liverpool on Thursday 3rd November, 2005, you still have time to book at:
http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/meetings.htm
This is a great meeting to attend, as it represents an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from across the UK, hear some thought-provoking and informative speakers and see the newly opened World Museum, Liverpool.
Confirmed speakers are Loyd Grossman, Chairman of Trustees, National Museums
Liverpool, the Liverpool Culture Company and the 24 Hour Museum.
We are also happy to confirm that Phil Redmond of 'Grange Hill',
'Brookside' and 'Hollyoaks' fame is speaking and Phil helped to establish
the International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC).
This year's Autumn meeting has an excellent programme of speakers from
National Museums Liverpool, Hewlett Packard and includes updates on our sector from the mla and 24 Hour Museum.
Many members are planning to travel up to Liverpool on the 2nd November and
we are pleased to say that the Adelphi Hotel (http://www.britanniahotels.com/hotel_home.asp?page=45)
offers an excellent museums and galleries rate of £65.00 per person
including breakfast, VAT and service. The Adelphi's booking line is
0845-838-0500, its a great historic hotel right in the centre of Liverpool
and only a few minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Street station and the World
Museum.
Carrying on the MCG's great social tradition we are holding a dinner on the evening of Wednesday 2nd November and you can book for this when registering for the meeting.
To see the programme and book for this meeting please follow this link http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/meetings.htm
Please do forward this e-mail to any of your colleagues who would be interested in attending. The meeting is free to MCG members and for those of you who are not members, you are very welcome to attend and can pay your membership subscription in cash or by cheque at the venue. The current annual subscription is £12 and this entitles you to free admission to the meeting and a year's membership of the MCG.
I look forward to seeing you in Liverpool.
