I thought this was interesting, especially given our discussions about
Google at the UKeIG Members Day yesterday.
It seems there are a lot of restrictions on what the university can do
with the digitalized material that they get from Google.

[AMIA-L] Google-Michigan digitization contract
This is slightly OT, as it doesn't explicitly concern moving image
material, but it could be highly relevant to public or nonprofit
institutions contemplating partnerships with private entities.
Google has partnered with five research libraries to digitize some or all
of their monographic and periodical holdings and build an online index for
public use. The partnership agreements are intended to be confidential,
but the Michigan document was released under the Michigan Freedom of
Information Act. The agreement is here,
http://www.lib.umich.edu/mdp/um-google-cooperative-agreement.pdf
and there are a few interesting comments about issues it raises on Mary
Minow's LibraryLaw Blog here,
http://blog.librarylaw.com/librarylaw/2005/06/google_univ_of__1.html.
