Due to the success of the previous 2 meetings, the Royal Society of Chemistry's Chemical Information Group, the Chemical Structure Association Trust and the University Science and Technology Librarians Group will be repeating their joint one-day training event on chemical information on Tuesday 11th October, 2005.
Venue: Thomas Graham House, Cambridge, UK.
This one day training event will contain a series of presentations which will provide an impartial and critical overview of chemical information products. It will be given by specialists from academic information departments, vendor representatives and the pharmaceutical industry.
Topics to be discussed at the meeting include:
* "What makes Chemical Information different"
* "Searching for Chemicals on the Internet"
* "Chemical Structure Drawing Packages"
* "Overview of Structure Databases on STN"
* "How to search for chemical structures - Substructure searching"
* "RSC Information Services - including Knovel"
* "Introduction to Reaction Searching"
Registration: £20 CIG/CSA Trust/USTLG members, £30 non-members (CIG membership costs £5 per year to members of the RSC or affiliated organisations).
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
