Apologies for cross-postings
Please copy to further lists if you wish.
Earlier this year CURL and the British Library commissioned a study to
assess the shortage of research library storage and the options for an
effective nationwide solution. Whilst the majority of libraries
consulted in the study were from HE, a number of major public libraries
were also included.
I'm pleased to say that the study report, Optimising storage and access
in UK research libraries, is now available on the CURL Web site (see
below), and that a one-day (free) event to discuss the report and its
recommendations has been arranged for 13 December at the British Library
Conference Centre.
The event will be open to librarians from all sectors as well as
researchers and other interested parties, so it's quite possible that
both yourselves and a number of public library services may wish to
attend.
The full Report and a separate shorter file containing the contents
pages and executive summary are available in the Reports section on the
CURL Downloads page (http://www.curl.ac.uk/about/Documentdownloads.htm).
A registration form for the event is accessible from
