The ad below reminded me of the discussion we had on this list recently about Athens passwords & access to the e-resources for social care staff and I wonder if the ad actually (but perhaps unintentionally?) clarifies the issue.
The ad says very clearly, & I quote:
"The NHS National Core Content Service provides access for all health and
social care staff in England to a collection of electronic databases, e-
books and e-journals. Established in 2003, the collection is now a key
component of the NHS knowledge landscape."
"..... all health & social care staff..." Am I reading too much into that?

Trent Strategic Health Authority is looking for an enthusiastic, highly
motivated manager to take the NHS National Core Content Service into its
next phase of development.
The NHS National Core Content Service provides access for all health and
social care staff in England to a collection of electronic databases, e-
books and e-journals. Established in 2003, the collection is now a key
component of the NHS knowledge landscape.
You will be responsible for delivering the Core Content service to all
English SHA areas as a component of the National Library for Health.
To achieve this you will need the following qualifications, skills and
experience:
· Educated to degree level or postgraduate level in Library and
Information Studies or equivalent
· Good analytical and communication skills
· Detailed understanding of digital library architecture
· Excellent negotiating skills, preferably in the area of digital
information resources
· Project management skills
· Sound understanding of NHS, HE and FE structures, processes and
professional groups
