Hello everybody,
Apologies if this question has been asked before - hopefully, it will at
least offer a variation on the theme!
We are currently being hounded to produce a detailed KSF document for
library staff - a situation which I am sure is replicated in most other
Trusts! Obviously, we do not want to reinvent the wheel here and I was
wondering if anyone had produced anything similar and, if so, they are
willing to share it with us. I have already received some samples from
colleagues within our own SHA but would like to make sure that I have
covered every eventuality.
I have already tried gaining access to the electronic KSF website, which
would seem to contain exactly what I am looking for but it won't let me
log on. When I "reported" this to our KSF project person her reply was
that she had the same problem and was going to a meeting in a couple of
weeks, and would raise the question then. And, yes, this is the person
who is hounding me for our department's competencies framework!
However, having undertaken the KSF training I was impressed to see that
two (and possibly three) of the competences relate to knowledge services.
So, my secondary question is, has anyone yet taken this unusual
opportunity of making sure that our services are included in the
competencies of any other departments. And if so, I would be interested
to hear what professions/specialties were involved and how they
were "recruited" to sign up to this.
I don't want much, do I? Of course, anyone interested in receiving
details/summaries of any responses is more than welcome to contact me for
these.
Thanks in advance - and best wishes.
Ann
