Hi Rhiannon,
The National Prescribing Centre's eCAB service (electronic Current Awareness Bulletin) covers new guidance from NICE, DH, SIGN, RCGP, RPSGB, and PRODIGY - as well as news and articles from BMJ and a number of other sources. If you subscribe to the weekly version rather than the daily, that will cut out a lot of the daily news and still include all new guidelines. You can sign up for this service at http://www.npc.co.uk/ecab/ecab_form.jsp. For an explanation of the scope and sources of eCAB, please see http://www.npc.co.uk/pdf/eCAB_scope.pdf.
Kind regards,
Michele

Subject: Clinical Guidelines - Alerting service
I have been asked by my Trust to identify systems currently in place which could alert us, within a couple of weeks of publication, of new clinical guidelines released. NICE Guidance and NSFs don't pose a problem but details of those written by the Royal Colleges and other professional bodies might only appear in the news items in the appropriate journal or on their web page and I don't have time to scan them.
In the future, I assume that Map of Medicine will incorporate them regularly into their algorithms and release quarterly updates and NELH Guidelines Finder is good for retrospective searches. In the meantime is there a service out there which we could use
Many thanks
Rhiannon
This may mean Royal College guidance and perhaps others that I can't think of at present.
Have you any more ideas and do you have any systems that might pick them up?
