Hi Gordon
Thanks for this.
The ideas in the manifesto to date have come from the HLG Committee - and we
now want to consult with members on all aspects, so that it will change and
develop.
The Committee felt that focus groups would be good way to enter into a
dialogue with members, but we are keen to hear if anyone has other
suggestions . So, thanks for pointing this out, and you are being asked and
not told.
Best Wishes
Jackie

Subject: Re: HLG manifesto 2005/6 Influence, inform and involve
"After initial discussion via email, further work with members will be done
with focus groups." (Below, and HLG manifesto, introduction).
"How would you like to be consulted - via focus groups for example?"
(Manifesto, What to do next?).
Are we being asked, or being told?
Gordon (EP).

Dear Colleagues
HLG's first manifesto, Influence, inform and involve, is now available on
the HLG website. The manifesto aims to clarify the role of HLG and its
future direction and aspirations. However, the manifesto has been developed
by the HLG Committee and it is intended that the manifesto will change and
evolve with input from the whole HLG membership. Please comment on the
manifesto, by using the Contact us form by May 31 2005 (in the What to do
next section.) After initial discussion via email, further work with members
will be done in focus groups. Please check on the HLG website,
http://www.cilip.org.uk/hlg and click on the What's New section.
Best Wishes
Jackie
