The Lancet has two letters in the current issue (July 9-15, p. 122)
critical of evidence-based medicine.
In one, "Evidence-based medicine in Japan", it is suggested that one
reason for the poor image of EBM there is that "only the techniques of
literature searching and evaluation of information obtained were
emphasised". This impacts on one of our areas of expertise.
The second is "Could evidence-based medicine be a danger to progress?"
A sentence from it is quoted on the Lancet's front page.
Gordon.
