Apologies, I should have summarised reponses to my question for the list.
According to Ovid there are 75,000 records on the BNI with 9,000 added
annually.
According to the BNI themselves (thank you John Gill) 800-1,000 records are
added monthly. The scope is: all UK nursing/midwifery journals; selected
English-language nursing/midwifery journals from elsewhere; and selected
articles from other health disciplines which are deemed relevant to the
target audience.
Thanks to everyone again!

Thanks to David Mockler, Carsten Mandt and Helen Farquharson who all
answered my query on the BNI so promptly.
I am indebted as ever...

Subject: BNI Plus
Dear all
Quick question for you... I am giving a very basic lecture next week to
overseas nurses on conducting a literature review. Does anybody know how
many records (roughly!) are indexed in the BNI and what (briefly!) the
selection criteria is for each record.
Thanks for any help you can give
Niamh
