A presentation of RefWorks -
From Personal Bibliographic Management to a Tool for Collaborative
Research.....
Dear Colleague
RefWorks is holding a series of seminars to promote RefWorks itself and
a new product, RefShare.
RefWorks, designed as a cost-effective service for the library, provides
institution-wide access to an Internet-based bibliographic management
service that allows users to create their own personal databases of
citations, abstracts, and notes -- and then access them from any
Internet-compatible computer. References can be imported into RefWorks
from hundreds of databases available on most bibliographic services.
The team at RefWorks is continually looking to develop and adapt
RefWorks to better respond to users' needs - a most exciting recent
development is the availability of RefShare, a new web based tool
allowing users to effectively share bibliographies and personal
reference databases with other colleagues whether in their Institution
or not - a true mechanism for collaboration!
RefShare is particualry interesting for multisite organisations or
those doing collaborative research, training or curriculum course work:
- researchers can share bibliographic information on specific research
projects with colleagues in remote sites or different Institutions
- librarians can easily provide information to their community :
bibliographies and reading lists specific to a group, a faculty study
area or special projects of the library/university
- faculty members can actively post information for students as
curriculum course reading lists.
To learn about these new features, and meet the new UK/Ireland RefWorks
Account manager, Jarrard Cooper, RefWorks, in collaboration with Eduserv
Chest, would like to invite you to a special presentation.
