This was discussed at the last meeting the SE/SW ILL Librarians. The authorities who lost most stock were those who had items delivered to multiple sites, (rather than one central address), especially where sites had restricted opening hours. DX also seem to have problems with some campus universities, possibly for the same reason - large site many buildings. Typically, where authorities experienced losses they also had problems making claims. I can't say we noticed that October was particularly bad - we experience steady but small scale losses at a fairly constant level.

While chasing up libraries for our overdue I;Ls we've had reports of a
number of books having gone missing in the post, having been sent via Hays.
This seems to have happened particularly in October 2004.
Has any other library experienced like problems with this company?
