Many library and information workers are required to give presentations e.g. to their colleagues, clients or to professional meetings and conferences.
BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
This workshop will enable participants to develop the skills and attitudes required to design and deliver successful presentations. It will enable them to reduce the stresses that are sometimes involved in presentations. The workshop is designed to enable participants to take part in a range of practical activities including delivering mini-presentations.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
Understood the principles of designing successful presentations
Planned and delivered a mini-presentation
Identified a range of strategies for ensuring that their presentations are memorable and effective
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This workshop is designed for library and information staff involved in delivering presentations. It is relevant to staff at all levels and stages in their career.
WORKSHOP LEADER: BARBARA ALLAN
Barbara's background includes workplace and academic libraries. She is a senior lecturer at Hull University Business School where she is involved in the development of students' management skills. Barbara has written a number of books for Facet Publishing including Training skills for library and information staff, E-learning and training in library and information services, and Project management.
