Video editing is something that I can help you with. As you know there
are plenty of video editing packages. Choosing the right one for you can
seem like a daunting task. Here in Media Resources we use Pinnacle
Liquid. Unfortunately I my self or the team have not used Quick Time
Pro, so I can't give any comment on it. My first question would be,
what is the current video stored on, i.e. video cassette?. If so, you
will need Video editing software which support a breakout box. My
recommendation would be Pinnacle Liquid 6. Before I go to much depth,
etc. I would recommend that you either give me a call, or if you can,
pop in so we can chat, as this line of conversation is easier face to
face. Plus also you can see what we use.

Patrick, I believe you are the expert on this. Do you feel you can reply
to this? Thanks, Judy.

We are carrying out a project that requires us to host a collection of
video clips. We need to get some basic video editing software and wonder
what software other institutions are using. We need to be able to
compress the video and be able to do some basic editing. We would also
like to keep are content non-proprietry to maximise access. We have
looked at QuickTime Pro, which seems to do what we need, but wonder
whether we need something a bit more powerful? Does anyone have any
suggestions?
