ARLIS/UK & Ireland Annual Conference, Lakeside Centre Aston University, Birmingham, 7 - 9 July 2005.
It is still possible to reserve a place at the ARLIS Annual Conference:
Rough Diamonds: polishing partnerships with creative industries
This year's conference is packed with inspiration for art & design librarians considering how their library can support local creative industries. Speakers from Russia, Scotland, the Midlands and London will outline what is happening in their sector; an artist and a jewellery-maker from Birmingham's thriving creative communities will explain how they use information resources in their work in addition to presentations from resource providers.
As always a range of topical issues, including providing for cultural diversity, supporting users with dyslexia and using Blogs, will be covered in the workshops.
Lakeside Conference Centre at Aston University is a purpose-built, spacious conference venue set next to a small lake on a green and tranquil campus. It is a very short walk to the many and varied cultural delights offered by this vibrant European city, some of which will be visited on Friday, before the Conference Dinner in the Edwardian Tea Rooms.
The all-inclusive conference fee of £455 includes accommodation, all meals, Dinners, Receptions, visits and the Extensis Trade & Resources Exhibition (and a late payment fee of £35). Day rates are available on application.
We look forward to seeing you there!
