Lectureship in Information Management (Fixed-term)
Department of Information Studies, University of Sheffield
The post holder will contribute to the Department’s world class
research and teaching programmes (5*A RAE and Excellent TQA
gradings) in the field of information management. The post holder
will have a higher degree (Masters and/or PhD) in the
information/library discipline and research experience in any aspect
of information management.
The post holder will contribute to team-teaching on core and
approved modules on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
in the Department and also contribute actively to curriculum
development. Areas of teaching may include: the fundamentals of
information management (policy, strategy and practice);
information behaviour; networked information and communication in
organizations, including computer-supported collaborative working;
information society.
Possible research interests for the post holder include, but are not
restricted to: information management policy and strategy;
information behaviour, information literacy, information design;
content management; legal aspects of information management.
This post will be especially suited to someone wishing to gain
experience of information management teaching and research in a
highly stimulating and supportive academic environment at an early
stage in their academic career. This post is tenable from
September 2005 to August 2007.
This post attracts a special HEFCE-funded Golden Hello worth
£7K, subject to the individual satisfying the eligibility criteria.
