Alison will outline her reasons for setting up a company to help users
understand the 'hows' and 'whys' of everything to do with finding
information on the Web.
She will also present a brief overview of searching from a process
perspective focusing, in particular, on information-quality issues: how
to enhance quality from the initial analysis of requirements
through to the interpretation of data retrieved from the Internet.
Finally, Alison will give examples of the ways in which automation can be
used to improve the different aspects of searching.
Alison Stacey was an Information, Learning and Technology Advisor at
Cambridge Regional College prior to setting up WebInfoPro Cambridge. With
her husband, Adrian, she has recently written a book on 'future-proofed'
web searching.
