Course Outline
--------------
Every decade we face the apparent spectre of 'disintermediation' as emerging technologies seem to chime the death knell of the information specialist. None more so than recent innovations in search engine technology that seemingly empower the end user to tap into high quality scholarly resources with little need for intervention and advice.
During the day we will assess these emerging search technologies in a state-of-the-art overview. We will also explore the competencies, skills and indeed the different behaviour that will be required to support new e-innovations in order to survive as information managers in the 21st century.
