A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Library Assistant: Subject Librarians
Group in a large academic library based in central London. The postholder
will provide day-to-day support to the work of the Faculty Teams of Subject
Librarians, particularly in the areas of collection management (including
the selection, acquisition, classification, relegation and disposal of
stock) and information skills training for Library users.
Successful applicants will be educated to degree level, have a minimum of
one year’s experience of Library work, excellent written and verbal
communication skills, knowledge of a West European language, knowledge of
MS Word and MS Excel and familiarity with one or more electronic library
resources. An LIS qualification and familiarity with some academic
resources in subjects covered by the Arts & Humanities and Social and
Historical and Laws Teams would be an advantage.
Salary will be within the range £18,401-£20,867 per annum (inclusive of
London Weighting).
