Hi,
Myself and a colleague at Leeds University Library have been asked to
write a journal article about our experiences of wireless access in a
University Library. As part of this, we are hoping to conduct a mini-
survey of the extent of wireless take-up in UK University Libraries, and
we'd very much appreciate the assistance of list members. Any responses
will be summarised for the list and we also promise to acknowledge you in
our article!
Can you tell us:
- does your library currently have wireless networking? If so, what is
the extent of coverage?
- what are your plans for any future development of wireless networking in
your library?
- are you loaning, or making available, any wireless equipment for users
(eg: wireless laptops, wireless cards, pdas etc)?
- have you encountered any support issues in relation to wireless networks
in the library? If so, what are these, and are they handled by computing
or library staff?
- are there any other issues that you've faced in relation to wireless
networking in the library?
Many thanks,
Tracey
