UC&R WALES AGM EVENT
Liasions Dangereuses? Where are we going with Academic Liaison?
DATE: 25th May (Commencing at 10.15am)
VENUE: Cardiff University (Humanities Building)
COST: £20 (includes buffet lunch)
What do academic staff want from subject librarians? What should they want?
What services should we be providing in the light of the increasing
emphasis upon Information Literacy? Should academics teach IL?
Have VLEs provided a new opportunity to increase library/academic co-
operation? Do they provide a way to raise the library profile? Do academics
understand how librarians can contribute to the effective development of
VLE modules?
As so many universities are re-structuring their Schools and faculties,
does this provide an opportunity for improving academic liaison?
How well do ensure that we have the books on the shelves to support the
courses being taught?
Are we supporting academics in their research? Do we make them aware of
how we can do this?
Do we have sufficient resources to provide good academic liaison?

Elizabeth will be talking about the development of joint library/academic
