Please find below details for ‘Train the Trainer’ free regional courses for
the ISI Web of Knowledge Service for UK Education
The new and enhanced version of Web of Knowledge will be available to the UK
Higher, Further Education and Academic Research community from April 2005
upon renewal of their subscription. Dual access to both the current and new
versions of Web of Knowledge will run from April 2005 through to September
2005 when the current version of Web of Knowledge will be switched off and
replaced with the new version. The JISC and Thomson Scientific have
announced details of the renewal of the ISI Web of Science Agreement for UK
Higher and Further Education. Full details of the agreement can be found

Programme
These workshops will:
·highlight the key differences between the current versions of Web of
Knowledge and Web of Science and the new and enhanced versions of WoK and
WoS
·provide the opportunity to explore the new features which are available
with the new version of WoK and WoS
·give an overview of the renewal progress and product update
·include an optional session looking at additional products, e.g. Journal
Citation Reports and Current Contents Connect.
Who is this course for?
These courses are for library and support staff. Previous experience of the
current versions Web of Knowledge and Web of Science would be advisable.
Course materials and format
The workshops will combine a mixture of presentations and hands-on practical
sessions; in addition there will be opportunities for attendees to ask
questions about the new and enhanced versions. Each session will be
supported by a Web of Knowledge workbook including worked examples. New
training presentations and user guides will be made available from the MIMAS
web page for downloading and customising for local needs.
