Dear colleagues,
we are currently reworking our fine structure for overdue books, and would
like some feedback on what other institutions are charging. If you could
answer a few (or all!) of these questions, then that would be much
appreciated. Please email me rather than the list.
How much do you charge per day for overdue general stock?
And how much per day for those items with shorter loan periods?
Is the fine capped when it reaches a certain limit?
How do you arrange repayment if the borrower cannot pay the full amount?
Do you suspend their borrowing rights in the case of non-payment?
How effective do you feel your fines are?
Thanks in advance,
Scott Pryor
