University of Aberdeen Historic Collections: Re-opening of the Special
Libraries & Archives Reading Room
The Special Libraries & Archives Reading Room will re-open to readers and
visitors on Monday 10 January 2005, with its normal hours of opening:
Monday to Friday 9:30am - 4:30pm
Most services will be back to normal after the recent closure due to
structural problems with the buildings.
However, the work is not yet complete and, on occasion, there may be a
limited amount of disruption and noise, and some individual items may still
be inaccessible, or may be subject to a delay in production.
The department will also have to close completely for up to a week at the
end of January / beginning February 2005 in order to undertake the internal
moves of some entire collections.
We appreciate that the closure of the Reading Room over the summer and
autumn will have caused considerable inconvenience for readers and
visitors, and we thank you for your understanding.
