Hi
I wonder if anyone can help with a referencing question that I'm not sure
of the answer to - any replies appreciated! The referencing system used is
Harvard.
The Question:
A student living in the Netherlands, studying online at a UK University,
wants to refer in his essay to some business books written in the Dutch
language. He will be using some quotes from the books in his essay, which
he will translate from Dutch to English.
How does he go about referencing this using Harvard?
Possible Answer:
I think he needs to include the Dutch title etc. of the book according to
the Harvard System in his list of references as normal. Then, in the body
of his text he would then translate the sections he wishes to quote in to
English and cite it something like this:
"xxxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx" (van Peursem, 2002, p. 234, as
translated by this author from the Dutch text).
I can't find anywhere that tells me the "official" way of doing this. So,
if anyone has any views on this, I'd be very interested to know them.
Many thanks
Regards
