Dear All
The next ILIG INFORMAL is on
The Alexandria Library, Egypt - with David Wardrop
Wednesday 16th March 6pm - 7pm
Cilip, Ridgmount St, WC1E 7AE
David Wardrop has been secretary of the UK Friends of the Alexandria
Library which is a group that has been helping to raise money for the new
library which was opened in Alexandria, Egypt in October 2003. David has
led the fundraising for the UK's biggest donation, the purchase of a
microfiche of Arabic material in the British Library's collection. Other
countries have been more generous at a governmental level and David is
currently trying to persuade the British Government to take more of an
interest in the Library. He will talk about the Library and the role of the
UK Friends.
All welcome.
Please reply to [log in to unmask] if you are thinking of
attending - it is very useful to know roughly how many to expect.
