A colleague not subscribed to the list has asked me post the following
enquiry. Could I ask any respondents to reply to

Dear list members
I am interested in tracing books that were once in the Parish Library of
Holy Trinity Church, Little Ouseburn, North Yorkshire. The few titles I have
so far located have inscriptions identifying them as from the church
library, and as far as I know there were no formal book labels, plates or
other regular marks of provenance.
I would be extremely interested to hear of any other survivals.

A new collection featuring images of rare and/or previously unpublished
Russian works of art is now available online via AHDS Visual Arts.

Russian Visual Arts: Art Criticism in Context, 1814-1909 contains over 300
images and primary texts from the nineteenth and early twentieth century - a
period of immense activity in all aspects of the Russian visual arts.

Highlights of the collection include a selection of texts written between
1814 and 1909. The texts cover the emergence of Russian art criticism as a
distinct genre of writing at the beginning of the nineteenth century to the
early manifestations of modernism. A number of essential sources are
translated into English for the first time and feature the work of major
writers on art and the nature of discussions on contemporary art in Russia.
The texts are complemented by images taken from contemporaneous publications
(such as lavishly-illustrated art journals, newspapers and pamphlets) which
contribute to the ambience in which the texts were produced.

Russian Visual Arts: Art Criticism in Context, 1814-1909 is the result of a
three year project entitled Russian Visual Arts: Documents from the British
Library Collection which took place between the years 2000-2003. The project
was established jointly by the Department of Russian at the University of
Exeter and the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies at the University
of Sheffield.

AHDS Visual Arts now has over 32,000 images dedicated to research, learning
and teaching.

Dear colleagues,

I am currently investigating the use of classroom technology for
training users
using software that enables a "master/slave" arrangement. So far i come
across two products NetOp & Videodidact Select. If you have a similar
facility i would appreciate a few details and a recommendation as
appropriate as to its use. For this to be compatable it will need to
work on Windows XP.

offering a series of one-day courses in central Glasgow in April.   Details
