Dear Colleagues,
We would like to make you aware of the E-LIS service and to encourage you to
use it both as a source of useful material and as a means of archiving
e-prints of your own papers.
E-LIS (E-prints for Library and Information Science) is an international
open access archive for e-prints related to Librarianship, Information
Science and Technology, and related application disciplines. It can be
accessed, searched, and browsed at http://eprints.rclis.org/.
You can add your own materials to the archive by going to the same address
(http://eprints.rclis.org/), clicking on 'register' and following the brief
registration procedure. You can then opt to 'begin a new item' and the
system will guide you through various screens, where you enter metadata such
as title, author, keywords and so on, relating to your publication. When you
have completed this process, you can upload a full-text version of your
paper and your entry will be approved by an editor before going into the
live archive.
Please try the service out and let us know what you think. In particular,
please consider adding your own e-prints to the archive.
A list of partner organisations involved in the initiative can be found at
http://eprints.rclis.org/partners.html
Cheers
