VENDOR MANAGEMENT - NEW
12 April 2005, London
Information professionals need to be able to work, not only with the users of their
services but also increasingly with the suppliers or vendors of products and services.
Information must be appropriate to the business needs of the organisation and is often costly. Sophisticated technology means that information can be made rapidly available worldwide. Acquiring the right mix of products and negotiating licences to suit business needs
is complex. Good results can be obtained, when information managers work in partnership
with the vendor. The best working relationships develop when both parties understand the
other parties' commercial drivers.
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
This workshop will assist information professionals to improve the management of their relationships with publishers, vendors and suppliers. It will also help participants
to assess the quality of their suppliers and their products.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* looked at the information marketplace
* gained an understanding of information product pricing
* practised the skills necessary for working with vendors such as negotiation and influencing
* compared vendor performance
* prepared an outline plan for working with vendors
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This event is aimed at information managers who are responsible for information resource management and spend, or will have to spend a large proportion of their time working with external vendors or suppliers of services.
