Dear colleagues
I need to do a (very) quick bit of research into how other HE institutions administer access to electronic resources for staff at institutions that are 'partner' institutions for foundation degrees etc. without contravening licence restrictions.
To try to explain, we run a a foundation degree here in partnership with another institution. The students are registered here so there is no problem providing them with an ATHENS username and password etc. and thereby granting them access to the full range of databases and e-journals to which we subscribe. However, the staff teaching on the course at the partner institution are not regarded as our staff, and can not therefore (as I understand it) have access to these same resources.
I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has faced a similar problem, and perhaps managed to resolve it satisfactorily? Please reply to me rather than the list, in confidence. If there is sufficient interest I can summarise.
Thank you.
Peter
